
Raiders Select 12 Players in 2019 WHL Bantam Draft

Prince Albert, SK - The Prince Albert Raiders selected their next crop of players at the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft on Thursday in Red Deer, AB.
The Raiders drafted 12 players into the organization on Thursday - six forwards, four defencemen, and two goaltenders.
With their first selection of the WHL Bantam Draft, the Raiders picked right winger Niall Crocker from Delta Hockey Academy Bantam Prep at 22nd overall. Listed at 6'2, 165 lbs, the Delta, BC product had 18 goals and 27 points in 30 games for Delta Hockey Academy. The right-shot forward added two goals and an assist in three playoff games.
In the second round, the Raiders selected left-shot defenceman Graydon Gotaas from the Sherwood Park Flyers with the 44th overall selection. From Camrose, AB, the 5'11, 160-lb blueliner had 13 goals and nine assists in 32 games for the Flyers. He also had an assist in five games at the 2019 Alberta Cup.
With their next pick, right-shot defenceman Tre Fouquette from the Warman Wildcats with the 74th overall selection. The Warman product, listed at 5'10 and 182 lbs, had 15 goals and six assists in 21 games with the Wildcats. He also suited up in a game for the Prince Albert Mintos during the 2018-19 season.
With the last pick of the fourth round, the Raiders drafted left-shot forward Tyler Dysart from Sunnyvale, CA. The 5'9, 167-lb forward had 26 goals and 30 assists in 42 games with the San Jose Jr. Sharks Under-14 club.
In the sixth round, the Raiders added to their goaltending corps when they selected Owen Savoie from the Winnipeg Hawks. Listed at 6'2 and 122 lbs, the Winnipeg, MB product posted a 4.59 goals-against average and a 0.905 save percentage in 34 games played for the Hawks.
With their second pick of the sixth round, the Raiders added left-shot forward Bryce Warkentine from the Eastman Selects. In 42 games with Eastman, the 5'9, 169-lb forward from Landmark, MB had 16 goals and 18 assists.
In the seventh round, the Raiders selected left-shot defenceman Porter Pennock from the Red Deer Bantam AAA Rebels. The 6'2, 146-lb blueliner from Red Deer suited up in 32 games with the Rebels to score eight goals and add 11 assists.
The Raiders' next selection came in the ninth round with the selection of Colin Kessler, a forward from Anchorage, AK. In 11 games played for the Anchorage North Stars, the 5'9, 145-lb left-shot forward scored 15 goals and added nine assists.
In the 10th round, the Raiders stayed close to home with the selection of right-shot forward Dallyn Peekeekoot from Canwood. Peekeekoot, listed at 5'9.5 and 194 lbs, had 14 goals and 30 assists in 31 games for the Battleford Barons.
With their next selection, the Raiders drafted right-shot defenceman Liam Rodman out of Saskatoon in the 11th round. The 6'1, 170-lb rear-guard had three goals, four assist, and 110 penalty minutes in 31 games for the Saskatoon Generals.
In the 12th round, the Raiders selected forward Jack Silverberg from Sherwood Park, AB. The 5'4", 112-lb forward had nine goals and 17 assists in 28 games played for OHA Edmonton Bantam Prep.
The Raiders wrapped up their draft by selecting goaltender Max Hildebrand from Martensville. The 5'10", 182-lb netminder played in 18 games for the Martensville Marauders, posting a 2.56 goals-against average and an 0.878 save percetange for a 14-2 record. In the playoffs, Hildebrand had a perfect 7-0 record with a 2.27 goals-against average and an 0.895 save percentage as the Marauders won the SBAAHL Championship.
