Hershey Bears News Release
Many former HERSHEY BEARS took the ice tonight wearing Lowell Lock Monsters uniforms; they got on the board right away with a David Gove goal at the 3:39 minute mark of the first period. Boyd Gordon would answer with a power play, equalizing goal at the 16:46 mark of the first period to tie the game at one heading to intermission.
The BEARS would come out firing in the second with a total of 21 shots on goal, one short of a season best. The BEARS would start the scoring at the 1:30 mark with a goal from the streaking Tomas Fleischmann. Fleischmann extended his point streak to seven games and his goal-scoring streak to five games. HERSHEY would not stop there; they added two more goals before the second period concluded. Lawrence Nycholat and another second period tally by Tomas Fleischmann added to the BEARS comfortable lead.
The third period was as productive as the second for the BEARS. The BEARS added to their lead, getting goals from Dean Arsene, Colin Forbes and Dave Steckel to put the game out of reach and get Kirk Daubenspeck his tenth win of the year.
Notables: Boyd Gordon, Tomas Fleischmann and Lawrence Nycholat all finished with 3 points on the night. The game featured 82 PIM. Kirk Daubenspeck made 21 saves to earn the victory. HERSHEY reached the 40 shot plateau for the third game in a row. Tonight's seven goals ties the season high. The BEARS end the night two points back of first place Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
The BEARS take on East Division rival Philadelphia at 7:00 for the final time on GIANT Center ice tomorrow night. Tickets for the game can be purchased by calling (717) 508-BEAR or stopping by the box office in person tomorrow afternoon. John Walton will have the call on the BEARS Radio Network beginning at 6:40 for the M&C Foreign Car Parts pre-game show.
