LOOKING AHEAD: Grand Rapids continues its assault on the AHL record books this weekend with a two-game series against Manitoba in Winnipeg (Friday and Saturday, 7:30 CT)... Four of the teams' first six meetings this season have gone to a shootout, including a 14-rounder on Mar. 15... The Griffins' current 10-game winning streak is the longest in the league this season, and has them on the verge of their third division title in five years... Jiri Hudler is third in the AHL with 90 points on the season, while Donald MacLean has potted a league-high 53 goals... Moose forward Craig Darby enters the weekend needing one assist to become the 28th player in league history with 400 for a career... Jason Jaffray has eight points in his last seven games for the Moose... Grand Rapids is 9-3-0 at Manitoba since the teams joined the AHL in 2001-02.

Peoria heads south for three big games this weekend, visiting San Antonio on Friday (7:00 CT) before a two-game stop in Houston on Saturday (7:35 CT) and Sunday (5:05 CT)... The Rivermen are 7-0-0-1 against the Rampage this season, and are fresh off an 8-2 thumping of the Aeros back on Tuesday night... Ryan Ramsay and Gavin Morgan have combined to score 19 goals in the month of March; they had nine goals between them previously this season... David Backes has four points in his first three games for Peoria out of Minnesota State... Peter Sejna recorded three assists Tuesday in his second game after missing more than two months due to injury... Houston, which visits Omaha on Friday, enters the weekend on a seven-game winless streak (0-5-1-1), just six points ahead of the third-place Rivermen in the West Division.

Two of the hottest teams in the Western Conference will collide on Saturday night when Chicago pays a visit to Toronto (7:00 ET)... The Wolves enter the weekend on a five-game winning streak, while the Marlies come into Friday's action with points in seven straight (5-0-2-0)... It's a homecoming for Chicago coach John Anderson, the Toronto native who played four junior seasons for the Marlies and was a four-time 30-goal scorer for the Maple Leafs... The Wolves' run has left them six points back of the final playoff spot in the West Division... Chicago defenseman Travis Roche has tallied 12 points in his last nine games (2g, 10a).

ALUMNI WATCH: On Wednesday, 1999 AHL All-Star J.P. Dumont scored twice for Buffalo in a 4-3 win over Boston... Brent Johnson made 49 saves to lead Washington past Carolina, 5-1... 1997 AHL All-Star Anson Carter scored with 6.1 seconds left to give Vancouver a 2-1 victory over Minnesota... On Thursday, Paul Ranger's first career NHL goal was the difference in Tampa Bay's 4-3 win over Atlanta.

BY THE NUMBERS: 10 -- Different 20-goal scorers for the 1973-74 Providence Reds, the most on one team in a single season in AHL history...
