Hamilton Hosts Peoria; Travels To Toronto This Week

The Hamilton Bulldogs (American Hockey League affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) will play two games this week. The 'Dogs will play host to the Peoria Rivermen (AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues) on Thursday December 11th at 7:30 p.m. at Copps Coliseum. Hamilton will then travel to Toronto on Sunday December 14th to take on their QEW rival the Toronto Marlies (AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs) at 4:00 p.m. at Ricoh Coliseum.

Last week, Hamilton went 1-1-1-0, and now has a record of 15-8-2-0. On Thursday December 4th the 'Dogs suffered their third straight loss, 5-4, to the Milwaukee Admirals at Copps Coliseum. Hitting the road on Saturday December 6th, Hamilton was victorious against the Grand Rapids Griffins at Van Andel Arena posting a 5-2 win. Wrapping up the week the Bulldogs hosted their North Division rivals the Toronto Marlies and came up short in a 6-5 overtime loss in front of 5,741 at Copps Coliseum. The game on Sunday was the annual "Stuffed Toy Toss Night" and saw 1,873 stuffed toys thrown onto the ice following Mathieu Carle's first goal.

HAMILTON BULLDOGS SALVATION ARMY FOOD DRIVE

Fans who bring a non-perishable food item to home games will receive a voucher valid for $6.00 off Adult Tickets purchased for the holiday games*. The Food Drive will run until Thursday December 11.

Volunteers of the Salvation Army will have collection boxes in the main entrance of Copps Coliseum. The Hamilton Bulldogs Organization has been involved in community food drives for a number of years and are excited about the prospect of lending a hand to the community once again. Please help stock food bank shelves in time for the holiday season.

Here are a few highlights and accomplishments of ex-'Dogs from this past week:

- Montreal RW Matt D'Agostini is currently on a three game point streak recording four points this past week, starting with the first goal of his NHL career in a 5-4 win over Atlanta (Dec. 2), a goal and an assist in a 6-2 victory against the Rangers (Dec. 4), and a goal in a 2-1 overtime loss to New Jersey (Dec. 6).

- Toronto C Mikhail Grabovski picked up three points this week, with a game winning goal in a 3-1 win against Los Angeles (Dec. 1), and two assists against San Jose for a 5-2 loss (Dec. 2)

- Montreal RW Andrei Kostitsyn picked up four points this week with a goal and two assists against Atlanta for a 5-4 win (Dec. 2), and a goal against the Rangers for a 6-2 victory (Dec. 4)

- Montreal G Carey Price earned two wins this week, the first a 5-4 victory against Atlanta turning away 22 of 26 shots on net, and the second against the Rangers for a 6-2 win (Dec. 4) turning away 18 of 20 shots on net

- Atlanta D Ron Hainsey recorded three points, two goals and one assist, in a 5-4 win against his former team, the Montreal Canadiens (Dec. 2)

- Edmonton C Shawn Horcoff recorded four points (one goal, three assists) in four games last week. He earned a goal in 5-2 win over Dallas (Dec. 3), picked up an assist in a 5-4 shootout win over Los Angeles (Dec. 5) and two assists in a 3-2 overtime win over San Jose (Dec. 6)

All regular-season radio and online broadcasts will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to each scheduled game-time. In addition Cable 14 will air live broadcasts 12 of club's 39 home games at Copps Colisem. In a joint venture with Mohawk College, Cable 14 will also broadcast the 27 Hamilton Bulldogs' home games not being shown live in their entirety as 'Dogs-in-an-Hour at 11:00 p.m. on the night of the game.

Cable 14 will also carry Rogers Television's live coverage of five Hamilton Bulldogs versus Toronto Marlies games at Ricoh Coliseum.

BULLDOUGS FOUNDATION:

Yannick Weber was named as the Community Player of the Month for November. Yannick demonstrated qualities of a true sportsman by dedicating his time to the Bulldogs both on and off the ice. On behalf of the Bulldogs Foundation, he visited schools in Hamilton and signed auographs for kids during a special appearance at a community hockey practice. The award is presented by Mountaineer Movers, agent for North American Van Lines and goes to the player who demonstrates professionalism as well as generosity towards fans throughout the community during that month.
