Flames Play FInal Pre-Holiday Game Home This Week
December 8, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Abbotsford Heat News Release
Moline, IL- The Flames play their final pre-holiday home game on Wednesday night at the i wireless Center. The Milwaukee Admirals will visit for the first meeting of the year with the Flames. Following the mid-week contest with the Admirals, the Flames head to Texas to face the Houston Aeros on Thursday and the San Antonio Rampage on Saturday. Quad City is 8-1-0-1 all-time when playing in Texas.
Last week, the Flames dropped a 3-2 decision to Rockford at the i wireless Center on Friday. The loss snapped a franchise record six-game unbeaten streak. On Saturday, the Flames rebounded to earn a regulation point in a 3-2 shootout loss in Peoria. Kyle Greentree scored his second goal of the game with just 1.8 seconds left in regulation to force the overtime period. Greentree's pair of goals on Saturday extended his goal-scoring streak to four games, one short of a franchise record for most consecutive games with a goal. The week was also highlighted by the Flames first recall of 2008-09. Calgary recalled Quad City captain Warren Peters on Sunday. The sixth-year professional made his National Hockey League debut on Sunday night in New York vs. the Rangers. Following the game, Peters was returned to the Quad Cities.
