Augusta Lynx News Release

The Greenville Grrrowl outlasted the Augusta Lynx by a 4-2 count at the Bi-Lo Center on Friday night.

After a scoreless first period, Brad Bonello opened the scoring in the game at 10:09 by tipping home a Vladimir Gusev point shot to make it 1-0 Grrrowl. Dan Sullivan would retaliate for the Lynx at 12:19, finding daylight on the blocker side of southpaw netminder Jeff Deslauriers for an unassisted goal. Rounding out the scoring for the period, Les Haggett stole the puck at center from the Lynx defense and skated in on Jason Wolfe, beating him over the left shoulder for a 2-1 Grrrowl edge after two periods of play.

BJ Gaustad would tie the game to give Augusta life just 1:32 into the final frame from Joe Pereira and Will Bodine, but the Grrrowl put the game away on goals from Colin Pepperall and a power play marker from Brock Radunske to close out the win.

With the loss, Augusta will finish the year in sixth in the Southern Division, kicking off the post-season against the Grrrowl on Sunday at 1 pm. Radio coverag
