Venedam, Borders, McHugh to Return Tonight

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors announced that captain Sean Venedam, forward Scott Borders and defensemen Oriel McHugh have been activated from the Injured Reserve and will dress for tonight's road game against the Stockton Thunder.

Venedam, 29, returns to the ice following his activation from the 30-Day Injured Reserve. The Condors team captain makes his way back to the playing surface tied for third in the ECHL with 15 power play goals on the season. Tonight will be his first live game action since recording an assist on March 5th at Victoria.

Borders, 24, was placed on the 30- Day IR on March 7th along with Venedam. Borders scored a goal and an assist in his last appearance with the Condors on March 1st. The 6-foot-2, 204- pound forward has six goals and 12 assists to his credit through 47 games this season and has recorded 121 PIMs on the year.

McHugh, 24, has appeared in two games since February 25th and returns to bolster the Condors defensive corps. The second-year pro has scored three goals and three assists in 2005-06 in 46 appearances this season.

The Condors also announced the release of forward Jack Baker and the placement defenseman Nathan Tennant on the 7-Day Injured Reserve (eligible to return to the lineup April 14th).

Bakersfield's regular season finale takes place Saturday, April 8th at home against the Alaska Aces. SpongeBob Squarepants will be in the house to entertain fans of all ages throughout the evening courtesy of Bright House Networks, 101.5 KGFM and Superkart Racing.
