
Storm's Blight Named CCM Vector ECHL Rookie Of The Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Chris Blight of the Toledo Storm is the CCM Vector
ECHL Rookie of the Month for March.
The 23-year-old Blight led the Storm in March with 20 points in 16 games,
helping Toledo go 12-4-0 to improve to 43-21-5 and clinch a berth in the
Kelly Cup Playoffs for the second straight year and the 12th time in team
history. He was second on the team in March with 13 assists and a
plus-minus rating of +8 and tied for second with seven goals.
The 6-foot and 190-pound right wing began the month with three straight
multiple-point games, scoring two points (1g-1a) in a 3-1 win over Trenton
on Mar. 1, registering two assists in an 8-2 win over the Titans on Mar. 4
and two points (1g-1a) in a 4-3 win over Greenville on Mar. 4. He scored in
10 of his 16 games in March with seven of the 10 being multiple-point games
including four points (1g-3a) in a 4-0 win against Trenton on Mar. 17.
He is second on the team with 27 goals and is tied for second with nine
power-play goals while his 58 points in 62 games ties him for second on the
Storm and ties him for 10th among ECHL rookies.
The Cambridge, Ontario native spent four years at Clarkson University where
he tallied 96 points (40g-56a) in 144 games. He scored a team-leading 20
goals in 2004-05 and was selected to receive the Fran Neragin Memorial
Award which is presented to the Clarkson Athlete with the best
sportsmanship and academic performance.

.935 save pct.).
