Royals' Doug Christiansen Loaned To Bridgeport

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that right wing Doug Christiansen has been loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL. For Christiansen, who leads this Royals with 35 goals and 64 points, this marks his sixth trip to the American Hockey League this season. On Wednesday, Christiansen played a one-game stint with the Binghamton Senators of the AHL in their 6-4 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, during which Christiansen picked up a fighting major. In separate transactions, the Royals also activated center Mike Kompon, who will be playing with the Royals for the first time since March 12. Kompon, who has scored 15 goals and racked up 56 points in 41 games with Reading, missed the last ten games for the Royals while on injured reserve. In other transactions today, the Royals placed forwards Tyler Hanchuck and Jason Kostadine on the seven-day injured reserve and placed goaltender Brian Gratz on the 30-day injured reserve.

The Royals return to action tonight when they face the Dayton Bombers visit the Sovereign Center in Reading (7:00 pm) for the last home game of the regular season. That night is Fan Appreciation Night, during which special prizes will be given out throughout the evening, and the first 2000 fans in attendance will receive a Reagan Rome bobblehead courtesy of Susquehanna Patriot Bank. Royals' game day broadcasts can be heard on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata and on the internet at www.royalshockey.com with pre-game beginning 30 minutes before the opening face-off. Streaming video is also available through the Royals' website on a pay per view basis provided by B2 Networks.
