Grizzlies Win In Shootout

West Valley City, Utah - Matt Craig was the only skater to score in the shootout as the Grizzlies defeated Phoenix 5-4 Saturday night at the E-Center. Utah is currently 2-0-1 on their ten-game home stand.

The Grizzlies jumped up 3-0 in the first with goals from Shawn Thompson, Jimmie Kraft and Matt Craig. Ryan Kinasewich assisted on all three Utah goals in the period.

Phoenix stormed back late in the second with three goals, including one from Chanse Fitzpatrick with just five seconds left to go in the period to tie the game at three.

The two teams traded goals in the third, forcing the game to overtime and the shootout before getting Matt Craig's goal.

Rob McVicar stopped 47 of 51 shots from Phoenix, plus five shots in the shootout for the win.

The Grizzlies got scoring from ten of their 16 skaters in the game.

Utah continues their ten-game home stand Wednesday hosting Long Beach. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
