
Two Goals From Randy Rowe Give Chiefs 4-1 Win And A Weekend Sweep

Johnstown, PA - The Johnstown Chiefs defeated the Reading Royals by a score of 4-1 in front of a crowd of 3,644 at the Cambria County War Memorial on Saturday evening.
Randy Rowe opened the scoring for Johnstown just nine seconds into the first period, picking up a goal-mouth pass from Jean Desrochers and hammering it past Reading goaltender Yutaka Fukufuji for a 1-0 lead. Just over five minutes later, Andrew Martens scored a power-play goal, taking a feed from Randy Rowe in the slot and firing it past Fukufuji at the 5:21 mark of the first period.
Brandon Elliott scored his ninth goal of the year and third in four games at 13:03 of the second period, picking up the rebound of a sharp-angle shot from Ryan Gibbons.
Reading would cut the Chiefs lead to two when Greg Hogeboom scored 6:54 of the third period. Randy Rowe would score his second goal of the game at 18:14 of the third, cutting in from the right wing and making a move to get Fukufuji to the ice before depositing the puck behind him.
