Grizzlies Win 4-3 in Shootout

Rapid City, South Dakota - Tim McGauley scored a first period goal and scored the only goal in the shootout as Kevin Carr stopped all 3 shots in the shootout to win 4-3 on a Friday night.

Utah outshot Rapid City 47 to 25 in the contest. The Grizzlies scored first as McGauley scored 10:06 into the first period. It was McGauley's 8th goal of the season.

Rapid City scored twice early in the second period. Tyler Poulsen tied it up 2:35 into the period and Shaquille Merasty gave the Rush a 2-1 lead 5:49 into the 2nd period.

Utah tied it up as Cole Ully scored his 8th of the season on the power play. Ully extends his point streak to 11 games. Ully ended the night with 1 goal and 1 assist. Ully has 5 goals and 16 assists in his last 11 games.

Matt Berry scored his 11th goal in his last 10 games as he gave the Grizzlies a 3-2 lead 7:19 into the second period. Berry has scored 5 goals in his last 3 games against Rapid City.

The Rush scored a late 3rd period goal to tie up the game for the 2nd straight game. Garrett Klotz scored with 2:42 left in regulation. The game went to overtime, where Utah outshot Rapid City 4 to 1. Adam Carlson made some outstanding saves for the Rush. Carlson ended the night stopping 43 of 46 shots heading into the shootout.

The Grizzlies shot first in the shootout and McGauley scored to open things for Utah. Rapid City went 0 for 3 in the shootout as Kevin Carr secured the victory by stopping Quintin Lisoway's shot to get the win and go to 6-0-1 on the year.

The final game of the 3 game series is Saturday night at Rapid City. With Tulsa winning on Friday night, the Grizzlies remain tied for first place in the Mountain Division with 30 standings points.

Utah is 3-0-0-1 and has 7 of 8 standings points vs Rapid City on the season. Utah finished 1 for 6 on the power play. Rapid City went 0 for 1.
