Eleven goals were scored in a goal-filled contest Saturday night as the Newfoundland Growlers returned to Mile One Centre after a five-game road trip taming their Canadian rival, the Brampton Beast, 7-4.

Josh Kestner opened the scoring at 6:59 of the first period finishing off a nice 2-on-1 play with Giorgio Estephan to give the Growlers an early 1-0 lead. Brady Ferguson extended the lead to 2-0 just over two minutes later after a mad scramble in front of the Beast net.

David Pacan cut the lead to one with 8:56 to play sliding it past Garteig for a powerplay tally. Pacan followed that up by scoring his second of the period with 1:01 to go in the opening frame, tying things at two after the opening period of play.

Nathan Todd gave the Beast their first lead of the game at 2:01 of the second period firing it five-hole on Garteig making it a 3-2 game. Scott Pooley replied at 5:34 of the second period off a puck that trickled behind Marcoux to even the game at three.

Zach O'Brien re-stored the Growlers lead at 10:26 of the middle frame sniping one past Marcoux, which ended his night after allowing four goals on 14 shots. Hudson Elynuik followed that up just under two minutes later after jamming the puck through a flurry of players making it a 5-3 game.

Scott Pooley scored his second of the night at 5:43 of the third period after banging home a rebound that required a lengthy discussion by the officials but was deemed a good goal. The Beast replied just under a minute later when David Vallorani re-directed a point shot past Garteig cutting the Growlers lead to two.

Scott Pooley completed the hat trick with 19 seconds to play in the game firing it in the empty net for a 7-4 final.
