Grizzlies Win 4-3 In Bakersfield

Bakersfield, California - The Utah Grizzlies (24-23-6-10) defeated the Bakersfield Condors 4-3 Saturday night at Rabobank Arena.

Peder Skinner gave Utah a 1-0 lead 1:27 into the second; scoring his second goal in two games with the Grizzlies after being acquired in a trade Thursday.

Tim Maxwell (5) made it 2-1 Utah with 2:35 left in the second period after the Condors tied the contest at one on a power-play goal at 12:45 of the middle frame.

In the third, Utah built their lead to two goals twice (3-1, 4-2) with goals from Mark Pavli (8) and Tom May (24). Though Bakersfield cut the deficit to one each time with the final Condors score coming with 5:51 left in the game.

Goaltender Robert Gherson stopped 26 of 29 Bakersfield shots to improve to 3-1 with the Grizzlies. Rob Hennigar had his team leading 17th multiple-point game of the year, chipping in two assists. Tom May (one goal, one assist), Tim Maxwell (one goal, one assist) and Mark Pavli (one goal, one assist) also had multiple-point games for Utah.

The Grizzlies now return home Sunday to host Idaho at 5:05 p.m.
