Grizzlies Fall 6-4 In Bakersfield

Bakersfield, California - The Bakersfield Condors defeated the Utah Grizzlies 6-4 Friday night at the Rabobank Arena.

Utah, who trailed 3-1 early in the second period, rattled off three-straight goals to take a 4-3 lead going into the second intermission.

Peder Skinner made it 3-2, scoring in his Utah debut, a day after being acquired in a three-team trade. Skinner's score came at 4:46 of the second period, 34 seconds after Bakersfield took their first two-goal lead of the night.

Utah tied it with Dan McDonald scoring his second of the year at 12:59 of the second and 19 seconds later the Grizzlies made it 4-3 as Tom May knocked the puck past Bakersfield netminder Dave McKee who left his crease and misplayed the puck.

The game stayed 4-3 before Bakersfield rattled of three-straight tallies in the third period to claim the win.

Robert Gherson started in goal for Utah after being reassigned back to the Grizzlies from the AHL's Chicago Wolves on Thursday.

Utah is next in action Saturday in Bakersfield. Face-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. The Grizzlies return home Sunday to host Idaho at 5:05 p.m.
