
Wranglers Pull Away From Steelheads 4-1

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers (28-26-8 64 Points) defeated the Idaho Steelheads (36-19-4, 76 Points) 4-1 in front of 5,797 fans Friday night at the Orleans Arena. Forwards Adam Miller, Justin Taylor, and Peter Ferraro each tallied a goal and an assist as Las Vegas improved to 16-10-2 at home this season. Defenseman Mike Madill scored the eventual game-winner for Las Vegas as the team picked up their 28th win of the season. Wranglers' goalie Glenn Fisher stopped 25 of 26 shots improving his record to 8-5-2 this season. Forward Sean Garrity tallied the lone goal for the Steelheads. Goalie Matt Climie made 23 saves as Idaho fell to 17-10-3 on the road. Las Vegas and Idaho will meet again Saturday night at 7:30 PM.
Las Vegas opened the scoring early as forward Justin Taylor scored just 2:28 into play. Forwards Chris Ferraro and Peter Ferraro set up Taylor's tenth goal of the season to make it 1-0. The Steelheads pulled even with a power-play goal at 12:42 of the first period. Idaho forward Sean Garrity snapped the puck in from the slot for his first goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1.
After a scoreless second period, Wranglers defenseman Mike Madill tallied his sixth goal of the season to regain the 2-1 lead. Madill picked up a loose puck and held on before firing a wrist shot from the left circle at 8:39 of the third period. At 14:02 of the final period, Las Vegas increased the lead to 3-1. Forward Adam Miller capitalized on a two-on-one with forward Kelly Czuy for his 12th goal of the season, snapping the puck past Idaho's Matt Climie. At 19:52 of the third, Peter Ferraro capped things off with an empty-net goal for his 15th goal of the season to make it 4-1 Las Vegas.
Las Vegas will take on the Idaho Steelheads again Saturday night at 7:30 PM at the Orleans Arena. The ZOOperstars! will perform at Saturday night's game. The Wranglers will then host the Phoenix RoadRunners on Tuesday night at 7:30 PM at the Orleans Arena.
