
Wranglers Stop Steelheads 3-0

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® (29-26-8 66 Points) defeated the Idaho Steelheads (36-20-4 76 Points) 3-0 in front of 6,269 fans Saturday night at the Orleans Arena. Las Vegas goalie Glen Fisher made 36 saves for the shutout win, improving to 9-5-2 on the year. Forwards Kelly Czuy, Justin Taylor, and Peter Ferraro each scored as the Wranglers improve to 17-10-2 at home this season. Steelheads goalie Rejean Beauchemin stopped 22 of 24 shots as Idaho fell to 17-11-3 on the road. Las Vegas will host the Phoenix RoadRunners Tuesday at 7:30 PM.
The Wranglers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, scoring just 1:51 into the first period. Las Vegas center Dan Riedel tossed a pass to forward Kelly Czuy, who tipped the puck up into the net for his seventh goal of the season.
In the second period, Las Vegas forward Peter Ferraro stretched the lead to 2-0. At 5:09, defenseman Bret Tyler made a move around Idaho goalie Rejean Beauchemin, then slipped the puck into the crease for Ferraro to tap in his 16th goal of the season.
In the third period, forward Justin Taylor tallied on an empty net with just 45-seconds left in regulation. Chris Ferraro and Kelly Czuy set up Taylor's 11th goal of the season for the 3-0 lead.
Las Vegas will take on the Phoenix RoadRunners night at 7:30 PM at the Orleans Arena.
