Reading Royals News Release
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team has signed goaltender Beau Erickson. In a separate transaction, the Royals released Pat Noecker as the team's Emergency Back-Up Goaltender.
Erickson (6'1/180) (23), who hails from Hinton, Iowa, just completed his third season with the University of Connecticut, where he compiled a record of 8-23-2 with a 3.69 goals against average and a .888 save percentage. In 2007-08, Erickson, who served as an alternate captain for the Huskies this year, was selected to the Atlantic Hockey Association second team, after he established a single season team record by recording 947 saves in thirty-one games.
The Royals take on the Trenton Devils tonight (Saturday, March 14 @ 7:05 pm) at the Sovereign Center in Reading, where the Royals will host "St. Hattrick's Day" when some luck fan could win as much as one million dollars; and the first 2000 fans will receive a Royals' hat courtesy of Quadrant Engineering. Saturday's game will be broadcast live on the Royals Radio Network Presented by Transmissions by Arbogast (True Oldies WRAW 1340 am in Reading; and The Ticket WLAN 1390 am in Lancaster), as well as on the internet via webcast hosted by Sportsjuice.com, which can be accessed through the Royals website.
