Grizzlies Sweep Home Opening Series

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies battled back from a 3-1 third period deficit for a second-straight night and defeated Idaho 4-3 in a shootout Saturday night at the E-Center. It was "Pink at the Rink" for breast cancer awareness as the Grizzlies wore pink jerseys and played on pink ice.

Utah tied the game at one 19 seconds after Idaho took a 1-0 lead at 9:32 of the first period. Scott Burt (3) scored for the Grizzlies to tie the game.

The Grizzlies battled back in the third period with two goals on special teams. James Sanford scored a power-play goal at 2:42 before Scott Burt (4) added a shorthanded unassisted goal at 13:16 to tie the game again; this time at 3-3.

In the shootout, Ryan Kinasewich scored the game-clinching goal in round four after James Sanford and James Pitton scored to start the shootout.

Mike Mole stopped 34 of 37 shots in the game to improve to 2-0 in a Utah uniform.

Prior to the game, the Grizzlies announced that forward Olivier Labelle had been added to the team from the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

The Grizzlies raised over $15,000 for the Huntsman Cancer Foundation with a post-game pink jersey auction. The team will also donate a significant portion of tonight's ticket sales to the HCF.

The Grizzlies now hit the road for three games; Wednesday in Idaho and Friday and Saturday in Las Vegas. Utah returns home Friday, November 9 and Saturday, November 10 hosting Victoria.
