Trenton Sneaks 2-1 Win Out of Cincinnati

CINCINNATI - The Trenton Devils scored twice in the final 4:51 of regulation time to claim a 2-1 victory over the Cincinnati Cyclones at U.S. Bank Arena on Saturday night. The Cyclones were looking for their first 3-0 start in club history.

The Cyclones opened the scoring with 28.7 seconds remaining in the first period as Barret Ehgoetz netted his first goal of the season. Conrad Martin had the assist on the goal, after stealing the puck in the Trenton zone and having a two-on-one breakaway. The shots on goal favored Cincinnati, 17-3, in the opening frame.

Following a scoreless second period, Trenton scored twice in the third period to claim the victory. Stephen Wood scored his second goal of the season on the power play at 15:09 and Ryan Gunderson picked up his first of the season at 16:17 to give Trenton its first road win of the year.

The Cyclones outshot Trenton, 34-16 in the contest.

The Cyclones travel to Dayton tomorrow afternoon for a 5pm contest with the Bombers. That game will be carried on SuperTalk FM 96.5, with the pregame airing at 4:30pm.
