Grizzlies Sign Lance Galbraith

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH - The Utah Grizzlies announced today that they have signed left wing Lance Galbraith to a professional tryout and that he will be in uniform tonight when the Grizzlies host the San Antonio Rampage at the 'E' Center at 7:05 p.m.

Galbraith, 24, is joining the Grizzlies from the Idaho Steelheads, the Grizzlies primary ECHL affiliate, ranking among the team leaders in every statistical category. In 58 games, the Brampton, Ontario native has scored 22 goals with 22 assists and has notched 353 penalty minutes (second in the ECHL). Galbraith also is a +9 with a team-high eight power play goals and four game winners. In four games with Dayton this season, prior to joining the Steelheads, Galbraith scored a goal and had 37 penalty minutes.

The 5-10, 190-pound forward has played 11 career games in the American Hockey League dressing five games with Syracuse last season and three games each with Springfield and Norfolk during the 2001-02 season.

Galbraith was a junior teammate of current Grizzly Zenon Konopka with the Ottawa 67's where he posted 85 goals and 124 assists for 209 points with 960 penalty minutes in 297 career games.

The Grizzlies have five regular season games remaining heading into play tonight and are currently five points out of a playoff spot.
