Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City - The Utah Grizzlies will fight to extend their five-game point streak when they host the San Antonio Rampage for the first of a two-game series at the 'E' Center tonight with a 7:05 face-off. The Grizzlies are currently racing to catch Cincinnati who holds the fifth and final divisional playoff position with a five-point advantage over Utah. San Antonio needs eight points to catch Cincinnati

Three of Utah's final five games will be against the Rampage, an opponent the Grizzlies have struggled against all season. Utah (26-38-6-5) has a 1-4-1-1 record against San Antonio (26-38-8-0) this season, their only win coming on October 22 at the 'E' Center. Still, the Grizzlies have earned a point in each of their last five game going 3-0-2-0 over that stretch while the Rampage are coming off a 4-1 loss at Chicago. Dan Ellis will be guarding the net for the Grizzlies tonight after winning three of his last four starts and allowing only four goals in the three victories.

The Grizzlies offense has become consistent of late posting a goal in all but one of the last ten periods they've played. Left wing David Gove, formerly of the Rampage, has been especially productive recording five goals, two assists and a +6 in his last five games. Team scoring leader Jarrod Skalde (54 points) has a goal and four helpers over those five games while Nick Naumenko has also proved dependable with eight points in his last seven outings.

The Rampage are 1-4-0-0 over their last five contests but have been effective against Utah all season. San Antonio has held the Grizzlies to 3-for-47 on the power play and netminder Travis Scott owns a 1.81 goals against average versus Utah.

The Grizzlies will have a rematch with the Rampage Saturday night before meeting the Milwaukee Admirals for a Wednesday night contest on April 7, the last regular season game to be played at 'E' Center.
