Hartford, April 2, 2004 - With shutout number 13, the AHL's First All-Star goaltender Jason LaBarbera backstopped the Wolf Pack to win number 40 and shutout number 17 for the team on the season. Among NHL and AHL records, only one club, the 1928-29 Montreal Canadiens, has recorded more shutouts in one season with 22.

LaBarbera turned away 29 shots and staved off six powerplays for the zero. Scoring for the Wolf Pack, Brandon Cullen with his second goal of the year, Jeff Heerema with goal number 11, and newcomer Rory Rawlyk with his first in the AHL, who joined the Wolf Pack from Charlotte of the ECHL on March 26.

The win opens up a bit of breathing room for the Wolf Pack atop the Atlantic Division. With Manchester's 2-2 tie with Bridgeport, the Pack opens up a six-point lead on the second place Monarchs.

The Pack's next game is tomorrow night versus Worcester. Game time is 7:05 p.m.

The AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack hockey club is part of Madison Square Garden LP. Cablevision Systems Corporation owns a controlling interest in MSG LP, which also includes the New York Rangers (NHL), New York Knicks (NBA), the New York Liberty (WNBA), the MSG Network, Fox Sports Net and the Madison Square Garden arena complex.
