Grizzlies Fall Saturday To Bakersfield

West Valley City, Utah - The Bakersfield Condors defeated the Utah Grizzlies 3-1 Saturday night at the E-Center in front of 109 dogs for the team's annual "Pooch On The Pond" game. The loss ended Utah's six-game unbeaten streak.

Bakersfield jumped up 1-0 10:17 into the game on a five-on-three power-play goal from Tim Konsorada. Konsorada added another power-play goal 1:06 into the second and Bakersfield led 2-0 before Todd Griffith finished off the second period at 19:06 to make it 3-0.

The two teams combined for 116 penalty minutes in the third period as seven total game misconducts were issued along with seven fighting majors.

Ryan Kinasewich broke up the shutout with 1:24 left in the game on a shorthanded goal assisted by Tyler Haskins and Sean Offers.

Nathan Lawson stopped 22 of 25 shots in game.

The Grizzlies complete their four-game home stand Monday versus Idaho. Face-off is scheduled 7:05 p.m.
