TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Devils busted out of their scoring drought in dramatic fashion Saturday night, posting three goals in the span of two minutes to take the lead against Gwinnett. The Gladiators fought back, however, and would earn the overtime win 5-4 with their third power play goal of the night.

Andrew Leach stopped the Devils' shutout against streak with 50 seconds remaining in the second period. The forward stood tall with Evan Shaw in front of Gwinnett netminder Dan Turple, and would lift the defenseman's shot's rebound up and over Turple and into the goal.

The tally cut Gwinnett's lead in half and brought the 4,599 fans at Sovereign Bank Arena to their feet.

Jim Henkel then tied the game with eight seconds to go with a snapshot in the slot. Picking up the puck from Leach, who in turn received it from Matt Radoslovich, Henkel wasted no time in planting the puck to the top left corner of the net.

Radoslovich earned the Devils their first lead of the night 1:01 into the third period. Tony Zancanaro earned the puck along the left-wing boards of the Gwinnett zone and sent a feed to the third-year veteran, who was stationed at the left wing dot. The winger put it on the blade of the stick and then blasted through the five-hole of Turple.

After an Andy Brandt tally tied the score at 3-3, Joe Rooney, with the help of his linemates Brad Mills and Eric Castonguay, raced across the red line on a breakaway. Rooney turned on the jets and snapped a riser into the top-right shelf to regain the lead for Trenton.

Gwinnett, reeling from the new-found Trenton attack, survived with the help of their third-best-in-the-ECHL power play squad. A man-advantage tally by Jeff Campbell 15:30 into the third forced an overtime, and Campbell's one-timer setup of Tomas Pospisil ended the game 3:36 into the extra frame.

Jason Smith took the overtime loss, stopping 34 of 39 shots; Dan Turple earned the win with 34 saves on 38 attempts.

The Trenton Devils square off against the Johnstown Chiefs with vital points on the line in the playoff hunt on Monday. The puck drops at 2:00pm at Sovereign Bank Arena. Tune into WBCB 1490 or go online to www.trentondevils.com and listen or watch live courtesy of B2 Networks.
