Berti to Pensacola, Brodeur to Rockford

COLUMBIA, SC - The Pensacola Ice Pilots have announced that the Rockford IceHogs have loaned forward Adam Berti to the ECHL club while goaltender Mike Brodeur will head to the AHL affiliate IceHogs.

This will be Berti's first stint in the ECHL. The second year pro spent this season in Rockford, playing in 39 games and registering 7 points (2g-5a) along with 63 PIM. Selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 3rd round (#68 overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Berti began his pro career with the Norfolk Admirals last season who were then affiliate with Chicago. In 87 AHL games over two seasons, he has scored eight goals with 11 assists for 19 points along with 113 PIM.

The 6'3'', 207 pound forward skated five years in juniors, mostly with the Oshawa Generals. He played in 209 games, scoring 76 goals with 90 assists for 166 points with 164 PIM. During his final season in the OHL, he moved from Oshawa to the Erie Otters.

Brodeur heads back to Rockford for his second stint this season with the IceHogs. He played 80 minutes, going 1-0-0 with a 2.25 GAA and a 0.944 save percentage. The 24 year old native of Calgary, AB appeared in 18 games with Pensacola this season, going 5-7-4 with a 3.18 GAA, a 0.909 save percentage and a shut out. Since his return from the IceHogs, Brodeur went 3-2-2 and was named ECHL Goalie of the Week for the week of February 4-10.
