Menei, Monych Score Power Play Goals, But Mississippi Falls to South Carolina 6-2

BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves concluded a six-game road swing on Saturday evening, losing 6-2 to the South Carolina Stingrays at the North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Ryan Menei got Mississippi on the board first, notching his 13th goal of the season when the rebound of Jason Tejchma's shot landed on the blade of his stick and he fired it past South Carolina netminder Josh Johnson's glove at 9:33 of the first period. Cail MacLean notched his first of the game for South Carolina at 16:12, chipping in a power-play goal to even the score at one apiece.

MacLean gave South Carolina a 2-1 lead when he took a pass from Trent Campbell behind the net and snuck a wraparound past Sea Wolves goalie Ryan Munce at 4:25 of the second stanza. Lance Monych drew Mississippi even again with a power play goal at 9:33. Travis Morin scored the game winner shorthanded for South Carolina, streaking down the right wing and beating Munce with a wrist shot at 14:23 of the second.

Chris Chaput, Nate Kiser, and Trent Campbell each added insurance goals for the Stingrays in the third period.

Ryan Munce made 34 saves on 40 shots, taking the loss, while the Sea Wolves went 2-for-6 on the power play.
