Grizzlies Fall In Overtime

West Valley City, Utah - The Victoria Salmon Kings defeated the Utah Grizzlies 3-2 in overtime Friday night at the E-Center.

Utah jumped up 1-0 with 52 seconds left in the first period on Vladimir Nikiforov's third goal of the year. Evan Kotsopoulos and Tim Verbeek added the assists.

5:10 after Victoria tied the game at one in the second period, Mike Walsh knocked in a rebound at 8:21 of the period to give Utah a 2-1 lead. Jon Gleed and Andy Sertich added the assists.

The Grizzlies held a 2-1 lead until 3:45 left in the game when Dylan Yeo scored a shorthanded goal to send the game to overtime.

Victoria got the game-winner from Shaun Landolt 2:35 into overtime on the four-on-three power-play.

Mike Mole tied a season-high stopping 43 of 46 shots from Victoria.

The same two teams will complete their three-game series Saturday at the E-Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
