D-Man Beaverson assigned to Blades

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced that defenseman Luke Beaverson has been assigned to the club by the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.

Beaverson, who is in his second professional season, has skated in eight games with the Americans, collecting one assist to begin this season. The Vadnais Heights, Minnesota native broke into the professional ranks last year, playing in six games with the Amerks recording 13 penalty minutes after wrapping up a four-year collegiate career at the University of Alaska-Anchorage.

While at the University of Alaska-Anchorage Beaverson notched 18 points (7g, 11a) and 169 penalty minutes in 138 games from 2004-08. The former 9th round draft pick by the Florida Panthers in 2004 is expected to be in the lineup for the Everblades game at Reading tonight.

The 6-foot-5, 227 pound blue liner will turn 24 on December 11.

The Everblades return to action on Friday, November 28 when they travel to Reading to take on the Royals from the Sovereign Center at 7:05 p.m.! The Everblades' next home game is Friday, December 12 when they host the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:30 p.m.
