Grizzlies Fall 4-3 In Stockton

Stockton, California - The Stockton Thunder defeated the Utah Grizzlies 4-3 in regulation Saturday night at the Stockton Arena. Stockton broke a 3-3 tie 3:49 into the third period as Oren Eizenman locked in a power-play goal with 17 seconds left to go on a Utah bench minor for too many men on the ice.

Utah never led in the game and fell behind 1-0 3:03 into the first period on a Brett Hemingway goal. The Grizzlies tied things up with 4:06 left in the period on a James Sixsmith power-play goal but Stockton finished things off in the first period taking the lead 45 seconds later and making it 3-1 with 53 seconds left in the first period.

In the second, Utah outshot Stockton 22-13 and got goals from Ryan Kinasewich (42) and Brian Kilburg (1) to make the score 3-3 going to the third period.

Utah outshot Stockton 15-11 in the third period but was unable to get the equalizer.

Mitch O'Keefe stopped 39 of 43 shots in the losing cause. Kinasewich factored in on all three Utah goals and had one goal and two assists.

Utah completes their five-game in six-night road trip Sunday in Stockton at 5:05 p.m.

The Grizzlies return home for their final three home games of the year starting March 24 when they will host Bakersfield to start a Wednesday, Friday, Saturday series. Face-off all three nights is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
