Alaska Aces News Release

LAS VEGAS - One night after he registered a hat trick in an 8-7 OT loss, Bryan Miller delivered again for the Alaska Aces, this time scoring the game-winning goal with 37.7 seconds left in regulation to provide a 3-2 margin of victory over Las Vegas in front of 5,057 Friday at Orleans Arena.

Alaska collected its first road win since February 13, ending a five-game winless skid away from home, and moved four games over the .500 mark (30-26-8) for the first time in four months. The National Conference race features seven teams fighting for six playoff spots separated by six points, with Bakersfield leading the pack in second place at 71 points, followed by Victoria (70), Las Vegas (69), Alaska (68), Stockton (67), Utah (66), and Ontario (65). Tomorrow's series finale begins at 6:05 p.m. AT and will be broadcast live on KFQD 750 AM, with Peanut Farm Pre-Game Show coverage getting underway 15 minutes prior to face-off.

Newly acquired Jarrett Konkle scored in his second game with the Aces to give the visitors a 1-0 lead just 66 seconds into Friday's contest. That margin remained intact for the next 45 minutes until defenseman Tyson Marsh went coast-to-coast, beating Vegas goalie Joel Gistedt with a backhander five-hole at 6:04 of the final period. Trailing 2-0, the Wranglers finally got on the board with 8:56 remaining when Alex Bourret blasted a one-timer past Scott Reid. Las Vegas tied the game on a power play with 4:35 left, as Mike Madill launched a drive from the high slot that slid inside the left post, a goal that held up despite Alaska's calls for interference.

The winner came in a four-on-four situation, with Miller finding an open are between the circles and whistling a wrist shot top left corner. The Aces were out-shot 16-8 over the final 20 minutes and 35-24 for the game.
