Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® (31-28-7, 69 Points) were defeated by the Alaska Aces (31-26-8, 70 Points) 3-2 in front of 6,342 fans Saturday night at the Orleans Arena.

For the second consecutive night, a third period goal while the teams skated 4-on-4 was the deciding factor. This time the game winning goal came courtesy of Aces defenseman Ryan Turek. Anthony Peluso and Brock McBride scored for Alaska in the win as Scott Reid earned his second straight victory over the Wranglers, stopping 34 of 36 shots. John Schwarz and Alex Bourret scored for the Wranglers as Jimmy Spratt took the loss, making 22 saves on 25 shots.

In the first period the Wranglers had several scoring chances, but it was the Aces who struck first. With the Wranglers on the power play, Judd Blackwater found Brock McBride with a lead pass. McBride broke in alone on Wranglers goalie Jimmy Spratt and beat him top shelf with a wrist shot for the shorthanded goal and a 1-0 Alaska lead at the break. The Wranglers outshot Alaska 14-10 in the period.

The Aces struck again in the second period. With just over six minutes remaining in the middle frame, Anthony Peluso beat Jimmy Spratt with a wrist shot from the left circle to give Alaska a 2-0 lead. In that period, the visitors outshot Las Vegas 10 to 8.

Trailing 2-0 to start the third period, the Wranglers earned a power play as Judd Blackwater was whistled for holding the stick just 38 seconds in. John Schwartz fired a slapshot home from the right point for the power play tally to cut the deficit to a single goal. Less than four minutes later, Alex Bourret's blast from between the circles tied up the game. Just under three minutes later with the teams skating 4-on-4, Ryan Turek's slapshot beat Jimmy Spratt to put Alaska back on top, 3-2. Despite a 5-on-3 power play advantage late in the period, the Wranglers were unable to tie the score.

The Wranglers hit the road for three games next week against the Stockton Thunder before returning to the Orleans Arena for a three-game series against the Ontario Reign beginning on Thursday, April 1st. The puck drops at 7:05 PM.
