The first period yielded no goals for either club but Reign defenseman Mike Egener and Idaho defenseman Aaron Dawson dropped the gloves at 14:28.
The Reign opened the scoring at 6:18 in the second period when right wing Jon Rheault received the puck from defenseman Andrew Martens, then spun around and passed it to forward Michael Pelech who then put it past Idaho net minder Rejean Beauchemin.
