
Grizzlies Fall 4-1 Sunday In Idaho

Boise, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads defeated the Utah Grizzlies 4-1 in ECHL play Sunday in Boise.
In the first, Utah killed three Idaho power-plays, including 54 seconds down two men. The Grizzlies took the final five shots of the period as the Steelheads outshot them 10-9 in the opening frame.
Idaho jumped ahead with two quick 5-on-5 goals late in the second period with Marty Flichel scoring at the 14:43 mark and Justin Williams lighting the lamp at 17:59.
The Steelheads added two insurance goals in the third period before Utah's Eric Przepiorka added his first professional goal at the 15:19 mark, assisted by Jimmie Kraft and Andy Sertich.
Goaltender Jon Volp made his first start of the season for Utah stopping 32 of 36 Idaho shots after being claimed off of waivers from Pensacola of the ECHL. The game marked the first of eight games this season that Rob McVicar did not appear in goal for the Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies return home Wednesday, Friday and Saturday hosting the Alaska Aces. Face-offs all three nights are scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the E-Center.
