Nailers beat Chiefs, 4-2

Wheeling, W. Va. (November 5, 2006) - The Wheeling Nailers defeated the Johnstown Chiefs by a score of 4-2 at WesBanco Arena today.

The Chiefs got on the board first when Randy Rowe scored his first goal of the game at 8:39 of the first period with a wrist shot that beat Wheeling netminder Andy Franck low to the glove side.

Bo Cheesman would even the score at the 6:00 mark of the second period, and Jon Foster's one-timer on a pass from Jordan Cameron gave the Nailers the lead at 8:06.

Rowe's second goal of the game came at 8:06 of the second, when he took a pass from Maxime Boisclair at the top of the left wing circle and blasted a slap-shot past Franck's glove.

Kurtis McLean would give Wheeling the lead 3:07 into the third period, and would cement the Nailers' victory at 11:34 of the third period, when Sean Collins fed him a breakaway pass in the neutral zone and he beat Morgan cey high to the glove side while Wheeling was shorthanded.

Morgan Cey made 41 saves on 45 shots, earning the loss.

The Chiefs return home to face Charlotte next Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Toledo on Saturday at 7:00 p.m., before travelin to Reading on Sunday.
