Grizzlies Continue to Be Strong on the Road: Beat Stockton 3-1

Stockton, California - The Utah Grizzlies continued their strong effort on the road winning their eigth straight away from the E-Center, 3-1 over Stockton.

The Grizzles got off to a fast start converting on the Power Play just 2:55 into the game when Keith Johnson scored his 25th goal of the year knocking in a loose rebound in front of the net. Assists were credited to Scott Burt and James Sanford. Just under two minutes later the Grizzlies struck again this time it was Ryan Kinasewich putting home a loose puck in the slot for his 15th of the year. Rob Sirianni and Tyler Haskins received assists on the goal.

Later in the first the Grizzlies opened up the scoring even more when Sanford threw in the puck from the right cirlce and connected for his eigth of the year and getting assists from Sirianni and Kinasewich.

The Grizzlies kept Stockton off the board until about midway through the third period when David Rohlfs ended a chance for a Grizzlies shutout. Utah outshot Stockton 39-31.

Nathan Lawson was solid in net just letting one squek by and stopping 30.

Prior to the game, Utah Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie announced that goaltender Mike Mole has been recalled to the Grizzlies and Islanders AHL affiliate in Bridgeport for the third time this year.

The Grizzlies will next be in action Sunday in Fresno at 6 p.m.

Utah returns home to the E-Center next Wednesday, Friday and Sunday hosting Fresno. Wednesday and Friday's games will start at 7:05 p.m. with a special 4:05 p.m. start scheduled for Sunday the 9th.
