Victoria, BC - The Las Vegas Wranglers (36-11-11, 83 points) defeated the Victoria Salmon Kings (35-17-5, 75 points) 5-4 at the Save On Foods Memorial Centre on Saturday night. Forwards Tyler Mosienko, Ryan Donally and Aki Seitsonen each scored a goal and dished out an assist as the team stopped a five-game winless skid (0-1-4). Center Chris Ferraro and winger Brandon Kaleiniecki also scored in the victory. Goalie Daniel Manzato stopped 27 shots for the win, improving to 19-6-6. Victoria's Wes Goldie scored twice in the defeat. The game turned ugly in the second period as the two teams combined for 86 penalties and two game misconducts. In the first period, Las Vegas jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Victoria cut the Wranglers lead to 3-1 by the end of the period. Las Vegas started the scoring with a shorthanded tally by Ryan Donally at 5:02, giving the Wranglers a 1-0 lead. Forward Aki Seitsonen set up Donally's 13th goal of the season. The Wranglers doubled their lead with a rebound goal in front of the Victoria net at 12:13 by Chris Ferraro. Donally and Jason Krischuk set up the power-play goal for a 2-0 Las Vegas lead. Seitsonen snapped in his 11th goal of the season just 37-seconds later. Center Tyler Mosienko and left wing Marco Peluso set up Seitsonen's third goal in as many nights. Prior to the end of the first period, the Salmon Kings ended their scoring drought with their seventh power play of the period. Ash Goldie scored his 31st goal of the season with 26-seconds remaining in the period, trimming the Las Vegas lead to 3-1.

In the second period, things turned ugly midway through the period. Victoria's Robin Gomez was whistled for a match penalty at 9:34 after punching Wranglers center Chris Ferraro. The match penalty set off a line-brawl as Ferraro was left bleeding on the ice and immediately taken off the ice for the remainder of the game Gomez was tossed from the game and the Wranglers were awarded a five-on-three power play. Las Vegas tallied the team's fifth goal of the night at 14:49, pushing the lead to four goals. Brandon Kaleniecki redirected a Brad Cole shot from the left point for his 15th goal of the season and a 5-1 Wranglers lead. The two teams combined for two ejections and 16 penalties totaling 86 minutes.

In the third period, Victoria charged back just 3:11 into the third period as Wes Goldie scored his 27th goal of the season, cutting the Las Vegas lead to 5-2. Defenseman Dylan Yeo scored his 10th goal of the season at 9:43. The shorthanded tally pulled Victoria within two at 5-3. Goldie added his second goal of the night and 28th of the season with 49-seconds remaining in the game, pulling Victoria within a goal at 5-4.
