Elmira Jackals News Release
ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, announced today that they have signed defenseman Eric Lind to an ECHL contract. Lind was not available for today's morning skate at First Arena, but will arrive in time for tonight's rematch with the Dayton Bombers beginning at 7:35 p.m. at First Arena.
Lind, 29, is a seventh-year pro who spent seven games with Elmira in the Jackals' final United Hockey League campaign. He picked up a goal and three points along with 25 penalty minutes with the Jackals. A veteran of 249 professional contests sprinkled throughout four leagues, Elmira will be Lind's fourth ECHL stop (Mississippi, Greenville, Reading).
The 6'3", 205-pound blueliner skated collegiately at the University of New Hampshire (Hockey East Association - NCAA). In 151 games with the Wildcats, Lind scored nine goals and 32 assists for 41 points and 131 penalty minutes.
Lind's arrival will give the Jackals five defensemen in the line-up for the first time since February 16th.
