Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that defenseman P.J. Atherton has been activated from the 7-Day Injured Reserve. Atherton, a second year pro from Edina, Minnesota, was injured on February 16 and missed six games with the Royals. The Royals return to action tonight (March 1; 7:05 pm) when the Johnstown Chiefs visit the Sovereign Center. This evening, Mascot Mania takes over the Sovereign Center as we celebrate Slapshot's birthday, and the first 4000 fans will receive a trading card of everyone's favorite mascot courtesy of Boscov's. The game night broadcast on Friday will begin at 6:35 pm with the pre-game warm-up show on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata, as well as on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com. Streaming video is available on a pay per view basis through the B2 Networks.
