Rays Host Columbia Tonight for Pink in the Rink Night

The Stingrays dropped a 6-4 decision last night to the Texas Wildcatters at the North Charleston Coliseum. Chris Chaput extended his scoring streak to nine games, netting two goals, while Steve Pinizzotto and Pierre-Luc O'Brien also lit the lamp in the defeat for South Carolina. Columbia, hosting Gwinnett at home, was shutout 2-0 last evening by the Gladiators.

This evening's game, which will see the Stingrays wear pink jerseys for "Pink In The Rink Night," will be the sixth of 10 contests this season between the Rays and Inferno ... Chaput has registered 16 points (6g, 10a) during his nine-game tear ... Marty Guerin has found the scoresheet in his last six games played (2g, 7a) ... Morin leads the Rays with 13 points (6g, 7a) this season versus Columbia ... The six goals last evening were the most South Carolina has allowed at home this season ... Miles and Peter Tsimikalis, who have combined for 15 points against the Rays in 2007-08, are currently on recall to the Marlies ... Columbia has outshot South Carolina in all five head-to-head meetings this year.

The auction will continue until the end of the game.

Come out tomorrow afternoon as the Stingrays celebrate Salute to Heroes Night. With your help, the Stingrays have been raising money for the Equipping our Heroes Foundation to help purchase communication equipment for the Pine Ridge Fire Department. Fire Trucks will be on display on the South Plaza prior to the game and a pre-game hockey between local police officers and firefighters will take place at noon.
