Grizzlies Come From Behind In Ontario; Win 4-3 In Overtime

Ontario, California - The Utah Grizzlies (15-14-4-3) battled back from a 3-1 third period deficit to defeat the Ontario Reign 4-3 in overtime Friday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena.

Rookie Tom May, named an ECHL All-Star yesterday, got the game-winning goal for Utah on the power-play 59 seconds into overtime.

Utah never led until the final score and went 3-9 on the power-play to set a season-high in power-play output. The Utah penalty-kill went 7-7. Captain and leading scorer Ryan Kinasewich had a season-high of four assists in the game.

Evan Kotsopoulos made it 3-2 2:36 into the third, before Tim Verbeek tied the game with Utah's first and only even-strength goal of the night with just 2:15 left in regulation.

James Brannigan (2) got the Utah scoring started in the first period to tie the game at one.

Goaltender Mike Mole collected his 11th win of the season stopping 25 of 28 Ontario shots.

The Grizzlies complete their three-game trip Saturday in Ontario. Face-off is again scheduled for 8:00 p.m.

Utah returns home to the E-Center Friday, January 23; Saturday, January 24 and Sunday, January 25 to host Idaho. Face-off the first two nights will be at 7:05 p.m., with a special 5:05 p.m. face-off on January 25.
