Chris Capraro Returns To Checkers Lineup

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte Checkers head coach and general manager Derek Wilkinson announced today that forward Chris Capraro has agreed to terms with the club and will join them for the home game tonight against the Mississippi Sea Wolves at 7:00 p.m.

Capraro, 5-foot-7, 186 pounds, hails from Medford, Mass. and started his professional career with the Trenton Devils after completing a four year career with the University of Massachusetts-Amherst after the 2006-07 season. During the off-season of 2007, the Checkers acquired his rights from the Devils and Capraro suited up in 69 games for Charlotte scoring 24 goals and 27 assists for 51 points which led the team in each category. Capraro started this season with Freiburg EHC of German League, Oberliga playing in 30 games scoring 12 goals and 31 assists for 43 points which ranked second on the team.

The Checkers are playing in their 16th season of play as a member of the ECHL. The next home game will take place on Jan. 16 against the Mississippi Sea Wolves at 7:00 p.m. In the team's 15-year history, the Checkers have made the playoffs 11 times including four consecutive playoff appearances to date. The Checkers are in their fourth season of play at Time Warner Cable Arena. Season tickets are still on sale with full-season packages starting at just $200.
