Dayton Bombers News Release
Dayton, OH - The Dayton Bombers and ECHL announced today that forward Jarret Lukin will replace Justin Bowers at the 2009 All-Star Game in Reading, Pennsylvania next week. American Conference starter Greg Labenski, who is unable to play, has also been replaced on the roster.
This is the first All-Star appearance for Lukin, who leads the Bombers with 16 goals this season. His 35 points are third best on the team and ranks 15th in the league. The Fort McMurray, Alberta native has had eight multi-point games this season.
Lukin replaces rookie forward Justin Bowers, who has been loaned the NHL's Colorado Avalanche "AAA" affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters, since January 10. Bowers, 23, has 35 points (11g, 24a) in 33 games for the Bombers and is fifth in scoring among rookies.
In a separate roster move, defenseman and Bombers captain Greg Labenski has been replaced on the roster by Elgin Reid of the Wheeling Nailers; Labenski's wife, Joyce, is due to deliver twins.
