
Blades Lose Pair to Rochester

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced today that forward Andrew Sweetland and defenseman Luke Beaverson have been recalled to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.
Both players return to where they began the 2008-09 season. Beaverson returns to the Amerks having skated in 18 games with the Everblades since his assignment on November 28. The 24-year-old has one assist with the Everblades this season.
Beaverson, who is in his second professional season, has skated in eight games with the Americans, collecting one assist to begin this season. The Vadnais Heights, Minnesota native broke into the professional ranks last year, playing in six games with the Amerks recording 13 penalty minutes after wrapping up a four-year collegiate career at the University of Alaska-Anchorage.
Sweetland makes another trip back to the AHL having played in 12 games with the Everblades this year and tallying eight points (3g, 5a). The Bonavista, Newfoundland native registered a career-high four points in one game on January 13 when he had a goal and three assists at Charlotte.
The 22-year-old rejoins Rochester where he has skated in 23 games, recording one assist. Sweetland, who is in his first professional season, competed at the collegiate level last season at the University of Maine where he notched 17 points in 28 games.

The Everblades return to action on Saturday, January 17 when they take on the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05 p.m. from the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, GA. The Everblades' next home game is on Friday, January 23 when they host the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:30 p.m. from Germain Arena.
