Fox Returns From Manitoba; Regan Assigned From Providence

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that forward Jordan Fox as been reassigned to the team from the Manitoba Moose. In addition, goaltender Kevin Regan has been reassigned to Gwinnett from the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League by the Boston Bruins of the NHL.

Fox was originally called up to Manitoba on January 6th. He returns to the Gladiators after appearing in 5 games with the Moose posting one assist.

The Kirkwood, Missouri native leads the Gladiators in scoring with 33 points in 32 games this season with the Gladiators. Fox has posted 14 goals and 19 assists for Gwinnett this season including 3 power play goals and 2 shorthand goals. Fox was also selected to represent the Gladiators in the 2009 ECHL All Star Game in Reading, Pennsylvania, on January 21st.

Regan comes to the Gladiators after appearing in 14 games this season with the Providence Bruins. He has posted a 6-4-1 record in the AHL this season while collecting a 3.33 goals against average and a .875 save percentage.

The South Boston, Massachusetts native appeared in one game with Providence after completing his senior season last year at the University of New Hampshire. In four seasons at New Hampshire, he recorded a 72-29-12 record and a 2.35 goals against average.

Regan was selected in the 9th round of the 2003 NHL draft with the 277th overall pick by the Boston Bruins.

Gwinnett gets a chance for revenge as it continues action January 17th, against the Florida Everblades. The game is the annual Teddy Bear Toss.

Began in 1988-89 with five teams playing in four states, the Premier 'AA' Hockey League has grown into a coast-to-coast league that will have 21 teams in 16 states and British Columbia playing 864 games from Oct. 17, 2008 to Apr. 4, 2009. Eighteen of the 23 teams have played at least five years in their current city.

The third-longest tenured professional hockey league behind only the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League, the ECHL averaged 4,174 per game last season, marking the fourth year in row and the 16th time in the last 18 years that the league has averaged over 4,000 fans. The league has drawn over four million fans each of the last five years and 11 times in the past 12 seasons.
