Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City - The Utah Grizzlies fell victim to a vengeful Manitoba Moose squad with a 3-1 decision at the 'E' Center Saturday. The Grizzlies, who picked up a victory over Manitoba on Wednesday, allowed two second period goals and never recovered as the Moose went on to collect their fourth victory of the season. Manitoba goaltender Alex Auld had 25 saves in the winning effort.

After the game opened with 25 scoreless minutes of play, the Moose were first to put up points beginning with a shot by Brandon Reid at 5:54 of the second period. Moose winger Justin Morrison was next to sneak one by Jason Bacashihua on the powerplay at the 13:52 mark. Bacashihua finished the game with 27 saves.

The Grizzlies' scoring drought finally ended at 3:36 of the third period when Brett Draney scored his first goal of the season. However, the Grizzlies were unable to score again, the final goal of the game coming off the stick of Manitoba's Ryan Ready into an empty net with 37 seconds remaining.

The Grizzlies, who fall to 4-8-1-2, will play their next two games at home. Utah will face off against the Worcester IceCats on Thursday and Saturday at the 'E' Center. Both games are scheduled to face-off at 7:05 pm.
