First Arena Elmira, New York
Saturday November 15, 2003 7:00 PM
Game Preview
For the second straight night the K-Wings will face-off against the Elmira Jackals at the First Arena in Elmira, New York. Last night, K-Wings goaltender Chad Alban paved the way to Kalamazoo's victory stopping 23 of 24 shots as the K-Wings defeated the Jackals 2-1 in a shootout.
The victory improved the K-Wings road record to 4-1-0, and extended their current winning streak to two games. Tonight is also game three of the K-Wings four game road swing, which will concluded tomorrow night in Port Huron against the Beacons.
The shootout loss last night was the second in as many nights for the Jackals, who are now winless in their last three games. Elmira will be ready to avenge last night's set back to Kalamazoo. Last night's loss put the Jackals in last place in the Eastern Conference.

Spreading the Wealth The K-Wings power play unit has showed a balance scoring attack. So far this season 10 K-Wing players have contributed to score 11 power play goals. Only Yannick Carpentier has registered more then one power play goal, as he leads the team with two.
Cleveland Rocks Before yesterday's game against Elmira, the K-Wings announced that defenseman Greg Labenski was called up to the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League. Labenski was in the lineup last night for Cleveland as the Barons skated to a 1-1 tie in Rochester (NY) against the Americans. Greg had no points, 1 shot and 2 minutes in penalties for Cleveland.
Alban Jumps to Third With another stellar performance between the pipes in last night's victory over Elmira, K-Wings goaltender Chad Alban has improved upon his already impressive goals against average. Alban will start play tonight with a GAA of 2.15, which is the third best goals against average in the UHL.
Adding Up With a plus/minus rating of +4 K-Wings forward Tim Turner is not only tied with his brother Jeff and defenseman Daniel Carriere for the team lead, but he is also among the top rookies in the UHL. Tim's +4 ranks him second in the league behind David Noel-Bernier of Muskegon (+5) for the league lead. Stingy Defense Leads to a Potent Offense The K-Wings have allowed a league low 2.14 goals against them this season. While the K-Wings have made scoring difficult for opponents, it hasn't slowed down their scoring assault. The K-Wings have averaged 3.86 goals a game, which is the second highest total in the league.
