Grizzlies Beat Colorado 2-1 on Road

West Valley City Utah - The Utah Grizzlies (6-5-1-2) defeated the Colorado Eagles (8-4-0-0) 2-1 Wednesday night at Budweiser Events Center to win their third-straight game.

Tied at one going to the third period, Alex Krushelnyski scored a shorthanded goal 6:44 into the frame on a breakaway and Utah killed two penalties in the final five minutes to hold on to the 2-1 score.

"I was just trying to keep the puck out of our own zone, I saw that he fumbled it, I looked to clear it, but it took a good bounce for me and I went in for a breakaway," said Krushelnyski.

Utah goaltender Ryan Faragher improved to 4-2 on the year as he stopped 26 of 27 shots as the Grizzlies improved to 3-1-0-1 on the road and to 4-1-1-1 in their last seven contests.

The Grizzlies took a 1-0 lead 4:24 into the first period as Brent Gwidt fed Vinny Scarsella on a two-on-one for his third goal of the year.

Utah continues their four-game road trip Saturday in Colorado at 7 p.m.

The Grizzlies are back home Monday, December 1 with Idaho at 7 p.m. for another Maverik Monday. Fans presenting their Maverik Adventure Club Card will get tickets buy one get one free.
