Utah Grizzlies News Release
West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley announced today that three forwards have joined the team from the AHL's Abbotsford Heat.
Abbotsford is the AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, with Utah in their fourth year as the Flames ECHL affiliate.
The three players arrived in Utah Friday evening and will all be in the lineup Saturday when Utah hosts Alaska at 7:05 p.m.
Michael Ferland, a 20-year-old rookie, was selected by Calgary in the fifth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He totaled 47 goals and 49 assists for 96 points and 84 penalty minutes last year in his final year of major junior hockey in the WHL. He skated in seven games with the Heat this season.
Adam Estoclet, 23, is in his second full pro season after splitting last year with Toledo of the ECHL and Abbotsford. In Toledo, he had seven goals and 16 assists for 23 points in 26 games. He had five goals and 10 assists for 15 points in 25 games with Abbotsford in 2011-2012 and one assist in two playoff games.
David Eddy, 23, signed with Calgary on August 1, 2012 after playing four games and tallying one assist with Abbotsford last year after college at St. Cloud State. He skated in two games with the Heat this year after recovering from injury.
