Grizzlies, Alaska Share Standings Points in 4-3 Aces' OT Win

Anchorage, Alaska - The Alaska Aces scored 2:12 into overtime to beat the Utah Grizzlies (23-20-5-3) 4-3 Friday night at Sullivan Arena as Utah collects a standings point and Alaska two in the opening game of a crucial three-game series between the two division rivals.

Utah led 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2, but Alaska was able to tie each time and took their first lead of the game on the game-winner.

Barry Almeida (11) hammered in a puck from the slot on the power-play with 1:37 left in the first period as T.J. Syner and Kevin Lind kept the puck alive in the Aces zone.

Utah made it 2-1 with just under a minute left in the second period as Channing Boe slipped the puck ahead to Ryan Hayes who scored on a breakaway for his 15th goal of the season and the Grizzlies ECHL leading 12th shorthanded goal of the year.

The Grizzlies made it 3-2 8:36 into the third period as Alex Krushelnyski freed the puck to T.J. Syner who toe-dragged into the slot and buried his seventh goal of the season.

Igor Bobkov (8-6-2-0) stopped 30 of 34 shots in goal for the Grizzlies.
